Hi, I'm Maura! I'm a college student and an artist passionate about creating and making accessible handmade goods. I started Maura Makes Art when I was 15 years old. Now, I am a college student studying to get my degree in Graphic Design at Montana State University. I split my time between Bozeman, Montana, and Seattle, Washington. I am constantly inspired by the landscape around me in these places, as well as my background of spending time on the ocean. I began working with recycled sails in the summer of 2024, and began to seek out materials to repurpose into usable items. From sail cloth bags to climbing rope belts, I eagerly accept all materials my sewing machine can handle to create with. I focus on making unique pieces for everyday use, from bags to hats, and I hope that everyone who encounters my art finds something that speaks to them.
